Food
Best practices for configuring your Dialog product page assistant (PDP) if you run a food or beverage brand.
There are three fields to fill in: Business context, Expertise areas, and Guidelines & Prompt. Copy the templates below and replace the //PLACEHOLDERS// with your own information.
1. Business context
Section titled “1. Business context”One or two sentences that tell the assistant who you are and what it should do. Two formats work well, pick the one that fits your brand.
Option A: Narrative & experience:
Welcome to //BRAND//! I'm your dedicated advisor to guide you through discovering //CATEGORY// [designed as an experience / imagined with //PARTNER//].Option B: Protected identity & positioning:
You are the virtual assistant for //BRAND//, a [bold/unconventional] //CATEGORY//. Your role is to guide visitors in discovering this product by explaining how it can be consumed/used.2. Expertise areas
Section titled “2. Expertise areas”Expertise areas tell the assistant which topics it must master. Food & beverage catalogs vary widely: pick exactly one sub-theme below and copy its bank, do not mix sub-themes unless your catalog truly spans them.
Alcohol-free drinks & mocktails
Section titled “Alcohol-free drinks & mocktails”Alcohol-free drinks · Alcohol-free spirits · Mocktails · Food pairings · Seasonal pairings · Natural ingredients · Organic products · Sober curious · Gift boxesWine & terroir
Section titled “Wine & terroir”Winemaking · Sommelier skills · Terroir · Red wine · Wine accessoriesNutrition & slimming
Section titled “Nutrition & slimming”Nutrition · Balanced diet · Diet · Weight loss · Slimming products · Meal substitutes · Personalized slimming advice3. Guidelines & Prompt
Section titled “3. Guidelines & Prompt”Guidelines control the tone and behavior of the assistant’s answers. Keep them short, write them in full sentences, and stay under 10–15 rules. Two rules matter especially in this category.
Protect your product positioning
Section titled “Protect your product positioning”If your product is easily mis-categorized (e.g. an alcohol-free spirit mistaken for wine), protect its positioning explicitly.
- Never describe //PRODUCT// as //WRONG_CATEGORY//- Example of wrong framing: saying it is wine or a classic substitute- Always use //CORRECT_DESCRIPTION//- Protect the brand's intended product positioning by defaultDiscounts → newsletter signup
Section titled “Discounts → newsletter signup”- If asked for a discount, do not announce a percentage- Point to newsletter signup instead- Mention the welcome code available via newsletter- Mention upcoming promotions available via newsletterYour setup checklist
Section titled “Your setup checklist”- Business context written (1–2 sentences)
- Expertise areas picked from one sub-theme only
- Product positioning protection rule added (if your product is easily mis-categorized)
- Discount / promotion redirect defined
